Two ways we grow pharmacies

Ecommerce sales and consultation bookings, run together.

Compliance built in

Pharmacy marketing that stays inside MHRA, ASA and GPhC rules.

These are the rules we plan every pharmacy campaign around. They protect your registration, your ad accounts and your patients.

  • No prescription medicine promotionAds promote consultations and the pharmacy, never named prescription medicines, their prices or offers, as the Human Medicines Regulations and CAP Code require.
  • Weight-loss ads done properlyNo weight-loss pens, GLP-1 references or injection imagery in ads, following the 2025 ASA, MHRA and GPhC enforcement notice.
  • Compliant websitesNo prescription medicine names or prices on the homepage and no add-to-basket for prescription medicines, in line with the MHRA Blue Guide.
  • Consultation-first journeysPrescriber-led consultations before any supply, with higher-risk medicines never prescribed by questionnaire alone, as GPhC guidance expects.
  • Careful use of health dataConsent-led tracking and no custom audiences built from health browsing, in line with UK GDPR and platform policies.

Why pharmacy is different

Why pharmacy marketing needs specialist rules.

Pharmacy is one of the most tightly regulated categories to market. Getting it wrong risks ASA rulings, GPhC action and suspended ad accounts.

01

Prescription medicines cannot be advertised

UK law bans advertising prescription-only medicines to the public. Growth has to come from services, consultations, the pharmacy brand and non-prescription ranges.

02

Platforms demand certification

Google only allows GPhC-registered online pharmacies that are certified with Google, and telemedicine may also need LegitScript. Meta applies its own health rules.

03

Trust decides who wins

Patients compare carefully. GPhC registration details, the superintendent pharmacist, reviews and clear consultation steps all affect conversion.

The pharmacy market

Why pharmacy marketing matters more than ever.

Pharmacies are closing, consultations are booming and patients now choose online. The pharmacies that grow are the ones patients can find and trust.

Why one retainer

One pharmacy marketing team versus several suppliers.

Pharmacies often juggle an ads freelancer, an SEO agency and a web developer, none of whom owns compliance. Here is the difference.

Questions

Pharmacy marketing: frequently asked questions

Can you advertise weight-loss injections for my pharmacy?

No agency can legally advertise prescription-only medicines to the public in the UK, and that includes weight-loss injections. Since the 2025 ASA, MHRA and GPhC enforcement, even phrases like weight-loss pen or GLP-1 are off limits in ads. We promote your weight-management consultation service and your pharmacy instead, and the prescriber decides on treatment.

Can my online pharmacy run Google Ads?

Yes, if the pharmacy is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and certified with Google. Telemedicine providers may also need LegitScript certification. Ads and landing pages still cannot promote prescription medicines, so we build campaigns around services, conditions and your P and GSL ranges.

Do you work with high-street pharmacies as well as online ones?

Yes. For high-street pharmacies the focus is local: Google Business Profile, map results, local SEO and campaigns for services such as Pharmacy First, travel health and vaccinations. We track bookings and walk-ins so you can see which services marketing fills.

Can you run Meta ads for a pharmacy?

Yes, within Meta’s health policies and UK advertising law. We focus on the pharmacy, its services and non-prescription ranges, and we avoid audiences built from health browsing, because health data is special category data under UK GDPR. Ad copy and imagery are also kept within CAP Code health rules.

How do you use email marketing for a pharmacy?

We build Klaviyo or Mailchimp flows for consenting customers: welcome series, P and GSL product follow-ups, seasonal health reminders such as flu jabs and hay fever, and service updates. Prescription medicines are never promoted by email, and every message respects customers’ preferences with one-click unsubscribe.

How much does pharmacy marketing cost?

Pharmacy marketing with Castle is billed as one retained fee each month, and it includes compliance checks on every campaign. The amount reflects how many services, product ranges and channels you need. Media spend goes straight to Google, Meta or TikTok, and a free growth audit ends with a fixed quote.

Am I tied into a long contract?

No. Pharmacy clients stay on a rolling monthly agreement and can leave at the end of any month. In the first month we set targets for consultations, orders and cost per acquisition. Every monthly report then measures progress against them, so the value is always clear.
