Case Study | How Castle Helped Private Label Supplements

Private Label Supplements

How did we help Private Label Supplements?

The Proposal

Private Label Supplements (PLS) is an online supplement store that provides a bespoke service for its customers across the UK. They generate own-brand labels for smaller online supplement stores, as well as drop-ship and invoice them if needed. Private Label Supplements wanted a revamp of their website, upgrading several features for wholesale purposes.

The Process

PLS had built their entire digital infrastructure through BigCommerce, this presented a host of challenges as this platform comes with severe limitations. However, as PLS did not wish to move to an open-source site this required a wholesale option, which would mean the site could not reveal any prices to the public but they would be able to view the store and browse the products.

PLS’s old site did not have any filtration options either, making it incredibly difficult for shoppers to locate products. This ultimately means a loss of revenue as customers having a poor user experience will move elsewhere. The company also wanted their search facility to have an advanced auto-fill solution, showing the product and title as the customer types. This auto-fill option would require bespoke code on a non-open-source platform.

To achieve these requests, Castle created a wholesale plugin, which began with a sign-in boxed module, which would then allow item prices to be revealed. PLS also requested that the item prices be variable depending on the buyer and their purchase history, to do this we created discount bands for each client.

The wholesale portal Castle built for Private Label Supplements needed to not only be able to arrange orders but also to connect with payment history, multiple shipments and multiple billing addresses for their drop-ship facilities. Previously, due to the nature of PLS’s business model, their original site was solely serving other businesses. It would now have the ability to send to different outlets and customer addresses that were not attached to the billing address in the system.

The Results

Castle’s creation of a dedicated wholesale site designed to enhance Private Label Supplements’ online presence, led to increased sales of 150% together with an increase of 200% in conversion rates, due to utilisation of features such as abandoned basket shots and the adoption of a VE interactive plugin module to monitor exit behaviour.
